The digital tokens better known as NFTs have been gaining traction from all over the world. Celebrities from all the fields like sports, music, art and even common man is equally interested in this rapidly expanding zone. The recent hype in the NFT industry is owed to the latest mint by the popular singer Madonna.
When we hear about Madonna’s NFT, the first thought that crosses our mind is that the NFT must be a kind of musical rendition. But to the amazement of the fans, it is a rendezvous with more sophisticated art form.
Madonna is an American singer-songwriter and actress. She is often referred to as the “Queen of Pop” and is well known for reinvention and versatility in music.
Madonna’s latest NFT- Mother of Creation, has gathered equal likes and dislikes as she boldly attempts to showcase birth of different objects through vagina. The work showcases animations of a fully-nude Madonna, redefining the concept of creation and birth of life. The one-minute animated video shows Madonna giving birth to a tree, butterflies and centipedes at three different locations. The triptych NFTs come with different titles: Mother of Nature, Mother of Evolution and Mother of Technology respectively.
Madonna explained the experience as, ‘It’s been an amazing journey building this together from an intellectual idea to an emotional story, giving birth to art. I wanted to investigate the concept of creation, not only the way a child enters the world through a woman’s vagina, but also the way an artist gives birth to creativity. Most importantly, we wanted to use this opportunity to benefit mothers and children who are most in need right now.
The NFT has been created in collaboration with Beeple, a name that everyone in the NFT world is very familiar with. Mike Winkelman aka Beeple is one of the most valuable living artists in the world.
The price of the work has not been revealed yet but all the sale proceeds will be donated to three nonprofit organizations — The Voices of Children Foundation, The City of Joy, and Black Mama’s Bail out — picked by Madonna and Beeple to support charity across the globe.
