NFTs (Non-fungible tokens) are establishing their presence more and more in a common man’s life. NFTs are unique digital assets that are supported by blockchain technology. In the years to come they may be the placeholders of all cherished art forms that can be stored digitally. Through NFTs, the buyers gain exclusive rights to hold, use and resell the art work.
WishWorld is the online space where buyers even get an opportunity to interact with their favorite artists along with exclusive access to their new work. Ilaiyaraaja’s NFTs will be sold by WishWorld in collaboration with
Gowthaman Ragothaman owned blockchain service company+Aqilliz, and celebrity management firm- One Mercuri.
WishWorld will be releasing a collection of 8000 songs by the maestro Ilaiyaraaja as digital collectibles with the original soundtrack, along with anecdotes, features, and musical notes from these compositions.
Gowthaman Ragothaman, CEO, Aqilliz, told BusinessLine, “We have been working closely with Raaja Sir to deep dive into his personal collections to design and carefully curate these NFTs and believe it will be a dream come true for his fans. Most of us have grown up listening to his breath-taking compositions; not just the songs but the background scores as well. Each of his compositions has a story behind it. We want to bring this story to fans.”
The best thing is that the NFTs will be sold like any other product sold online, implying that there will be no need to open a Crypto wallet for buying these NFTs.
“We are not getting into the auction mode and fans will be able to log into the platform to buy or trade these NFTs just like online shopping. The platform takes care of all the back-end transactions, including creating a wallet for them as well as the much-needed storage,” said Ragothamanchain. He added that the NFTs of Ilaiyaraaja has good prospects in future as far as monetisation is concerned as Maestro’s fans are spread not only in India but across the globe.
