Even amid falling crypto market, the user base seems to be moving in a positive direction as food delivery companies Doordash and Uber Eats have joined the list of those accepting cryptocurrencies as a mode of payment for their services, as announced by crypto payments provider BitPay.

The rising role of food delivery services in curbing hunger pangs cannot be underestimated. More and more people are using their services on daily basis as it comes with the convenience of fast and hot delivery of food from your favorite restaurant at your choice of place and time.

Uber Eats and DoorDash are online food ordering and delivery platform. DoorDash was founded in 2013 in California. Ubereats was launched by Uber in 2014. Users can read menus, reviews and ratings, order, and pay for food using an app or through browser.

The facility will be provided by the cryptocurrency payment provider BitPay. The users can now pay in a huge range of crypto coins which not only include popular names like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Dogecoin (DOGE) but also crypto currencies like Shiba Inu (SHIB), Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), Gemini USD (GUSD), USD Coin (USDC), Litecoin (LTC), Ripple (XRP), Dai (DAI), and Binance USD (BUSD).

BitPay has been a Crypto enthusiast and is coming up with innovative ways to promote the adoption of cryptocurrency payments. Earlier, BitPay also opened the purchase of Apple products, including MacBooks and iPhones, from selected retailers like Newegg via Shiba Inu.

The twist here is that the food delivery companies will not directly accept crypto payments, but with the help of any of the three alternative ways.:

  1. Buy gift cards for food delivery services using your crypto wallet
  2. Use the BitPay Card to spend crypto
  3. Order food using Menufy or Takeaway.com and pay straight from your crypto wallet

The users can either choose to purchase food delivery services’ gift cards using the cryptocurrency via the BitPay app, as well as via the BitPay cryptocurrency card. It is worth mentioning that Bitpay Cryptocurrency card allows users to spend their digital currency like cash. BitPay makes a quick and hassle free conversion of your crypto into prepaid gift cards which you can spend just like cash at hundreds of merchants across a variety of categories, including DoorDash and Uber Eats.

Or people can use the platforms like Takeaway.com or Menufy to pay to the food delivery companies directly from their cryptocurrency accounts. Menufy is one of the only services in the U.S. that accepts direct payments for crypto users and its European equivalent is Takeaway.com, which also accepts direct crypto payments
